The Sixth Seal

And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake, and the Sun was blackened like sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became like blood. And the stars of the Heavens fell upon the Earth, like a fig tree casting its figs when it is shaken by a strong wind. And the Heavens were parted like scrolls being rolled up, and every hill and all the islands were moved from their places. Revelation 6:12-14

But when?

The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood… Joel 2:31, Acts 2:20

So-called doomsday scenarios have been foretold for so long there is a certain callousness that now accompanies the hearing of the stories. The callousness is of great concern, as it is what our LORD Jesus chided the 11 disciples for after His resurrection, when they had refused to believe those who had seen Him alive. God has declared that certain events will occur. They will, indeed, occur.

For example, as I was writing this article, back channels were alive with discussions regarding the moving of America’s Federal Government resources to Colorado in preparation for an upcoming sudden event. These conversations were centered around the expectation of some never-before-seen celestial event in the form of a meteor shower, asteroid collision, contact with planet X / Nibiru / Wormwood debris, or the like that were said to begin in September of 2020 and continue for, perhaps, months until the USA was split in two, Canada warmed to tropical temperatures and Europe became the new Siberia.

In yet another scenario, 2021 began with rumors of world war looming again on the horizon, with tensions at all-time highs. Which nation would be the greater super power this time? Who was speculated to be the faster draw in the ensuing gunfight?

Is the sixth seal a momentus event, or a cumulative one? In other words, are we waiting for yet one more solar eclipse? Or could we be witnessing the deliberate masking of the sun over time – all in the name of saving the Earth?

“…like sackcloth of hair…” Think: burlap. Sackcloth made of goat hair (or camel’s hair) ranges in color from light beige to dark brown. Frankly, it looks a lot more like dirty linen than a pair of black slacks. Instead of looking up into a clear blue sky expecting to see a black sun, imagine looking up where a bright yellow sun used to be, only to see dirty brown sky – perpetually?

“…the moon became like blood…”

“…the stars of Heaven fell upon the Earth…”

“…the Heavens were parted like scrolls…”

“…every hill and all the islands are moved…

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way (when the Earth quakes), though the mountains be moved (quake) into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble (quake) at its swelling. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved (quake); God will help her when morning dawns. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the Earth melts (shook). The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come, behold the works of the LORD, how he has brought desolations on the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Psalm 46
